Working with Cartlidge Lavine, I had the opportunity to bring Neville Brody’s iconic typeface and numerals to life — a true dream project for any designer. The installation was created for the Dyson Building at the Royal College of Art in Battersea, blending bold typography with an industrial aesthetic.

Our task was to find a durable design solution that could withstand heavy use while maintaining a striking visual impact. We chose to work with road marking paint, a material that not only provided strength and resilience but also introduced a unique textured finish. This rugged quality complemented the raw, industrial character of the space perfectly.

Due to the fast-drying nature of the paint, precision was essential. We developed a system using custom stencils and rollers, allowing us to apply the type quickly while retaining clarity and accuracy. The result was a large-scale typographic installation that celebrated both craft and durability, showcasing design at the intersection of functionality and artistry.
